Chris Lindner and Lisa Rands to Teach Workshops at the New River Gorge
Pro-Climber Chris Lindner
This is your chance to climb with one of the best climbers of our generation, Chris Lindner. Not only is he a bad-a climber, he's a genuinely nice guy who's an awesome teacher.
Chris came out to the New for the first time last year for the Rendezvous and fell in love with the climbing here. During his stay he did the first ascent of a long-standing project in the Cirque that went at hard 5.13 and numerous other on-sights that left our jaws hanging in the dirt. He had such a great time that his parents came out to visit later the same year. It's easy to see where Chris gets his climbing talents from, while here both his mom and dad sent Apollo Reed at Summersville Lake.
His mission: "I think that the more people in the world that get out
and rock climb while appreciating nature, the better the world will
be". Amen. We knew we liked this fella.
Details and dates on his workshop are below, read on.

ABOUT LISA RANDS:
Lisa blasted to public attention with her phenomenal
bouldering prowess. The only American woman to win an international bouldering
event, Lisa took two first-place finishes in her first year on
the international circuit attaining the rank of number one in the world. She
also blitzed outdoor climbing competitions such as the Phoenix BoulderBlast and
the Triple Crown with comprehensive wins.
Looking beyond the competition circuit, Lisa's quest for
adventure has taken her around the world. Amid the
towering granite spires of Patagonia she made a super-fast all-free ascent of
Saint Exupery Spire. On the revered gritstone cliffs of England, Lisa threw
herself into the death-defying mental challenge of "hard grit" climbing,
completing the terrifying and spectacular End of the Affair (E8) at
Curbar Edge, in October 2004. With this ascent she became the first woman ever
to climb a traditional E8, a grade of difficulty previously the domain of the
male elite. Known throughout the world for her exceptional talent, Lisa is also
recognized for her modest personality and friendly demeanor off the rock – truly
an inspiration to everyone she meets.
