Climbing & Yoga Weekend Retreat

May 18-20, 2012

Erin Larsen, Certified Yoga Instructor and Health Coach
New River Gorge Rock Climbing and Yoga Retreat 2012
Updated 2/13/12

Building upon the successful Climbing and Yoga Retreat last October, we're stepping it up and offering several in 2012. The first of which is this coming June. For those of you who attended the snowy October session, June promises much warmer weather with the New River Gorge as our backdrop.

Looking to step it up? Maybe you are looking to wind it down? Find it here. Join us for a weekend filled with yoga, rock climbing and slack lining surrounded by the splendor of the New River Gorge National Park, WV.

Surround yourself with inspiring people and get your crank on. We will be bedding down at the Opossum Creek Retreat's Meadow house, which is pretty perfect if we must say so ourselves. This house includes a hot tub, central kitchen, a large sunlit great room where we will practice yoga, a big bonfire pit ready for a jam session, and trees that will adorn our slack lines. You can choose your room (either private or shared), ranging from a king size private bed and bath to a more affordable bunkhouse (prices vary per room and may be shared with a friend to save!). Sign up early to get your pick.

All meals are included and will be made with as many local and organic foods that we can get our hands on! Our holistic health coach will make sure that these foods are nutritious, tasty and packed full of protein for our worked muscles.

Every day will include morning and afternoon yoga sessions led by Erin Larsen, Certified Yoga Instructor and Health Coach, who will lead you through both relaxing and challenging yoga sessions. Erin has over 10 years of experience and is classically trained in the Ashtanga tradition which she studied in India. She holds a certification in the Pranavashya method from her teacher, Vinay Kumar who taught both Vinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga. She has also had the privilege of taking workshops with top instructors including Shiva Rea and Baron Baptiste, David Swenson and Annie Pace, Todd Norian and Desiree Rumbaugh, in the Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Anusara traditions respectively.

The afternoons will be filled with rock climbing sessions with American Mountain Guide Association, Certified Rock Instructor, Elaina Arenz-Smith.

Back at the cabin retreat, we'll enjoy a healthy dinner, slack line playtime, bonfire, music and plenty of laughs. Slacklines will be set up for the whole weekend right outside the cabin and can be used at any time. We will receive some instruction on walking them, as well as using them for support yoga postures and other fun tricks.
