GET OUT!
Our camp programs are ideal for kids who are motivated climbers, providing them with an opportunity to experience outdoor climbing, while they learn about the techniques and skills necessary to do so safely.

LESS IS MORE
We maintain small group sizes that allow us to cater to both newer climbers and those with more experience looking to push themselves in the grades. Our typical camper profile varies from your occasional climber to kids who participate on their local climbing gym teams.

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE
The New River Gorge offers a diverse range of climbing opportunities for our campers. They will have the chance to experience many different styles of routes of all angles, from steep overhanging climbs and delicate vertical face climbs, to splitter cracks of all sizes.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Each day we focus on a different skill lesson and the rest of the day is spent putting those skills to practice. Campers learn skills such as lead climbing, trad gear placements and anchor building, jamming techniques, and refinement of all climbing movement, how to clean anchors and other tactics to help them be self-sufficient members of a two-person climbing party.

WORLD CLASS CLASSROOM
Our Rock Climbing Summer Camp Programs are held in the world-class climbing area the New River Gorge National Park. Located in Southern West Virginia, the "New" is known for it's high quality sandstone with over 3000 routes, from single-pitch sport and traditional climbs plus bouldering. We offer two camp programs, Teen Rock Camp (ages 13-18) and Lil-Grom Day Camps (ages 6-12).

TEEN ROCK CAMP (AGES 13-18)
This camp is suitable for co-ed teens age 13-18 who are new to climbing as well as those who are totally addicted to it. We'll lay a solid foundation of climbing skills with an emphasis on decision making skills and exercising sound judgment. RockCampers will learn to advance their climbing technique, knowledge of gear and equipment, and the importance of ethics, teamwork, problem-solving, and trust.

Teen Rock Camp curriculum includes climbing skills such as knots, belaying, rappelling, and mock-lead climbing with the safety of back-up top rope. RockCampers will also learn valuable outdoor skills such as camping, cooking, water treatment, Leave No Trace practices, leadership and natural history.

Campers spend the week camping out under the stars at our local campground which has hot showers, flush toilets and running water. On the first day of camp, you'll set up your tent once at our basecamp, and then branch out to a new climbing area everyday from there. You'll need to bring a good tent with a rain fly and your personal camping equipment (we'll email you a full list of equipment you'll need). Campers take turns cooking meals for the group and sharing in camp-life responsibilities. The evenings are spent sharing climbing stories around a campfire with s'mores. Tall tales are guaranteed.

Return and Experienced First Time Campers Ages 16-18 are encouraged to apply for our Junior Counselor positions. They will have the added responsibility of mentoring the younger campers and helping with facilitating the group experience throughout the week. Please inquire if you are interested in one of these positions.

LIL GROM DAY CAMPS (AGES 6-12)
Once again in June 2012 we will be holding a day-camp program for kids age 6-12 years old. We'll meet once a week on Tuesdays in June and spend 3 hours learning the ropes, it's the perfect way to introduce your kids to rock climbing.

Affordably priced at $160 per child, for 4 weeks, sibling discount is available. We'll teach them everything they need to know and provide all the equipment necessary including: climbing shoes, harnesses, helmets and all technical climbing equipment.

Stay tuned for 2012 dates...
